Paternity and Child Support
If a child’s paternity is in question DNA testing is appropriate (Paternity Testing).  If the mother
of the child does not consent to DNA testing a court order can be sought which would compel
the participation of the mother and the child.

If paternity is confirmed, the father is responsible to support the child regardless of the
relationship between the parties.

Child support is the right of the child and the father is responsible for these payments in
accordance with the Federal Child Support Guidelines.
